Youth Ministries
This ministry began one cold Sunday morning with a group of six elementary and
middle school youth, waiting for the doors to open for breakfast. Today about 30 children and youth call New Life home. The vision of our young disciples’ ministry is to share God’s love with
children and youth; by creating a place where they are safe and welcome so that they may grow to their full potential, responding to God’s love while caring for their neighbors.
Adult Christians are responsible
to teach children, the next
generation of Christians, to
live Christian lives. And, all
adults are responsible to
protect children; we're all they
have. They are voiceless and
powerless, for the most part.
Children in New Life's community
need your love and attention.
Are you interested in these
goals? Contact Rev. Laura
Young to find out where
you can serve as the hands and
feet of Christ in bringing up
our children as disciples of
Jesus Christ in a world in great
need. Sunday Morning Christian Education and interaction with "young disciples"
begins at 6:30 AM when Breakfast begins, and continues through worship. Plugged In: Meets each Tuesday, 6 - 8 PM. Adult mentors help students with their homework, teach computer skills, and encourage good study habits.
But most importantly, they help
them to develop a life-long love
of learning and to foster
relationships that encourage
Christ-like living. With
educational success, it is more
likely that children will fully
contribute to the body of Christ
in the ways God has created each
one to serve.

Minister of Youth and
Families:
Our Minister of Youth and
Families is Rev. Laura
Young. Laura seeks
children to invite to New Life UMC and adults who love children
and want to shepherd them as
followers of Christ. It takes a
village to bring up children in
the ways of Christ! She is
always working to build up the
core of child advocates,
tutors/mentors, Sunday school
teachers, Bible study teachers,
musicians, VBS volunteers,
Friday night live volunteers,
Fun First Saturday volunteers,
van drivers, craft coordinators,
snack providers, and nursery
volunteers. She encourages your
feedback and prayers for the
youth and families in our
community and our world. There
are many special projects in
which to get involved in order
to build up the Kingdom of God
and protect children in the
process. She may be contacted at
the church phone number or at
her e-mail address, which is
revlaurajyoung@yahoo.com.
NOTE: All adult volunteers must
complete application forms and a
background check release form.
